What is the average price you would charge per source word for English-Spanish-English translation?

I am getting into freelance translating and I'm new to the industry.|||You might want to ask on proz.com

It depends on experience, on location and on the specific language combination. If you are in the States... maybe 15 cents? Hmm... maybe less given you have no experience. But don't go under 12. Aren't there any local translators who might be better able to guide you?

If you have no experience and you haven't been revised, I actually think it's a bad idea to start freelancing. You need revision and you need guidance. How about working for other translators who will revise your work? Don't expect to be paid much at first, but you need the training.|||I usually charge $0,06 per word, but I do special discounts for bulk documents.
